letter to myself

Hello Rutger it is I Rutger from the year Two Thousand and Twelve. If you don't know I am from the future and I have sent this letter to you to help and prevent you from burning your leg in a freak motorbike accident. You can prevent this by…

First wear pants you don't realize how important a pair of denim pants can protect your leg from being reduced to nothing but a pile of ash.

Second the ground is wet.

Third be dramatic.

Fourth hit the corners with more speed and less caution this should hopefully throw you of the motorbike without causing too much trauma. And reduce your contact with the blazing hot exhaust pipe.

Fifth laugh, you're a man and men laugh at death.

Sixth dust yourself because it's time for food.

You will thank me and I hope to one day  enjoy a nice cold drink with you  in the land of tomorrow.

Reflections

Q. How did you feel going into this assignment?
A. I felt a little uneasy starting the advertisement redesign project for Wrt 150.
Q. How did you decide on a specific ad for the essay?
A. The topic for my redesign was simple and would be easy to implement. This had to be an alcohol advertisement.
Q. How did you come up with your idea for the redesign? Did you sketch it out or just picture it in your mind?
A. The plan for the redesign came to me very quickly and it happened in a dream… or a sudden thought of inspiration which ever sounds better. This idea was to move the scene of the ad to that of a pub.
Q. What challenges did you face as your began the essay? How did you overcome those challenges?
A. My first challenges that I encountered was that I am not a good writer. To overcome this problem I had to think that I was smarter than I am. It worked, I think.
Q. What did you like about this assignment? How did you use these likes to your advantage?
A. I liked that the assignment allowed us to be creative in how we were able to change the advertisement. This allowed me to quickly come up with a course of action.
Q. What learning outcomes did you walk away with? What concepts do you feel like you have a greater understanding of?
A. I now see that advertisements are more than something that constantly gets in the way of reading and watching TV. That someone put a bunch of time and effort into creating them.
Q. If you were to get a second chance at writing this essay, what would you do differently?
A. I would constantly save my word document because I wouldn’t want all that work to be deleted again.
